SUNRISE, FLA – The Florida Panthers announced today that 26 players (three goalies, seven defensemen, 16 forwards) will attend the team’s rookie camp that will commence on Friday, Sept. 9 with medical and fitness testing. The Panthers prospects will hold their first practice on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Springs at 9 a.m.
The Panthers open a three team rookie tournament (Tampa Bay Lightning & Nashville Predators) with a game against Tampa Bay’s prospects on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Saveology.com Iceplex. A complete rookie camp game schedule can be found below (all dates & times subject to change).
- Sunday, Sept. 11 – Tampa Bay vs. Florida at 6 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 12 – Tampa Bay vs. Nashville at 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 13 – Nashville vs. Florida at Noon
- Wednesday, Sept. 14 – Tampa Bay vs. Florida at Noon
“The rookie camp and tournament provides our staff with a great opportunity to evaluate the growth and development of our prospects,” Florida Panthers Executive V.P. & General Manager Dale Tallon. “Our prospects will get the opportunity to compete in game situations and learn about the commitment and training that is necessary to play at the National Hockey League level. We look forward to seeing all our fans at the rookie camp games as we prepare for the upcoming season.”

(second round, 33rd overall in 2010), D Alexander Petrovic (second round, 36th overall in 2010) and G Jacob Markstrom
(second round, 31st overall in 2008).
All rookie camp practices and games are free and open to the public. Donations benefitting the Panthers Foundation will be accepted at all rookie camp games.
