Panthers to Host “Try Hockey For Free” Clinics

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that, as part of their continuing initiatives to promote youth hockey in South Florida, they are holding "Try Hockey For Free” Clinics in Broward, Lee, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties beginning in January 2015.

The clinics will be held at Fort Myers Skatium (Fort Myers), Kendall Ice Arena (Kendall), Palm Beach Skate Zone (West Palm Beach) and Panthers IceDen (Coral Springs) for boys and girls ages 4-10 who are not currently enrolled in hockey programs. The clinics are intended for children to learn the fundamentals of the game of hockey for the first time, with a focus on skating. Full equipment, including skates, will be provided to each of the participants.

A welcome event will be scheduled a week before each respective clinic, where participants and their families will meet instructors and be fitted for equipment. Each clinic will take place once a week over a three-week span. Various Florida Panthers alumni will be assisting in on-ice instruction during each program.
