SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that they will host Family Fun Day on Saturday, January 10, when the Cats take on the Atlanta Thrashers at 1 p.m. The game, which was originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time, has been changed to a 1 p.m. matinee in order to allow families and children to take part in all festivities surrounding Family Fun Day.
“We developed the idea for a Family Fun Day with a matinee start based on the feedback that we have received from our season seat owners,” said Florida Panthers President/Chief Operating Officer Michael Yormark. “Our fans urged us to think about the possibility of hosting a matinee game on Saturday and we have responded with plans for an interactive and exciting Family Fun Day. I would also like to thank General Manager Jacques Martin, as well as the Atlanta Thrashers for working together with us in order to accommodate this start time change. Family Fun Day is just another example of how our organization continues to strive to be the most fan friendly sports team in the National Hockey League and South Florida.”
Family Fun Day will be filled with a variety of interactive festivities that will entertain fans before, during and after the game. Prior to the game, fans can take part in the interactive elements that will be outside on the plaza level, including face painters, clowns, special contests and much more. Throughout the game, fans will be entertained by unique in-game features developed for families and children. After the game, select Panthers players will be available to sign autographs for the fans. Further details about Family Fun Day will announced closer to the event.
What Our Season Seat Holders Are Saying:
"The Panthers organization listens to the fans and makes a strong effort to keep us as one big happy family. Locker room tours, 4th of July fireworks, skating parties and a 1 p.m. afternoon game are all perfect family events.” --- Panthers Season Seat Owner Todd Watson from Plantation.
“A change of pace is always refreshingly good and it would probably be more attractive to families with younger kids. Though we all agree unanimously that a Panther game is good at anytime of the day or night.” --- Panthers Season Seat Owners Dave & Lin Fearnley of Plantation
“Now that's a game I can have my kids be awake for all periods and it fits nicely between the ‘I'm hungries’ of lunch and dinner! Make it a kids day! See you there.” --- Panthers Season Seat Owner Dr. Richard Ridky of Boca Raton
