SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers today announced an upcoming community rink practice in support of USA Hockey and the NHL’s designation of November 2011 as Come Play Hockey Month. The Panthers will hold a community rink practice at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Pines Ice Arena.
Fans can watch the action on the ice and enjoy special activities, including player autographs after practice, subject to availability. Festivities will begin at 9 a.m. and include interactive games and an inflatable street hockey rink. The Panthers Patrol will be on hand to celebrate the event with prize giveaways, along with Stanley C. Panther and the Redline Lady Panthers. Pines Ice Arena is located at 12425 Taft Street in Pembroke Pines, Fla., 33028.
Come Play Hockey Month is a joint initiative between USA Hockey and the NHL. The nationwide effort is designed to increase participation in the sport of ice hockey in the U.S. and is a component of the NHL’s Hockey is for Everyone program, which provides children of all backgrounds the opportunity to play hockey.
