Panthers To Honor Their “7th Man” – The Fans – With Special Initiatives On Opening Night Jan. 19 At BB&T Center

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

SUNRISE, FL – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers have a number of unique fan-centric initiatives planned for Opening Night Jan. 19 at the BB&T Center as part of the Cats’ “7th Man” marketing campaign.

The initiatives include a full team postgame autograph signing for kids, commemorative mini Southeast Division Championship banners for every fan in attendance, a group of original Panthers season ticket holders on the ice for pregame lineups, and a host of other special promotions that will be revealed on Opening Night.

The “7th Man” campaign encapsulates the Panthers’ commitment to winning back the support of its fans and partners all season long and will be a significant portion of the team’s Opening Night game presentation and festivities. Cats fans will be honored in a variety of ways on the same night when the Panthers players, coaches and staff are recognized for the team’s 2011-12 Southeast Division Championship.

“Once we emerged from the recent work stoppage we felt it was important to apologize to our fans for what they went through,” said Panthers President Michael R. Yormark. “Now it is time to honor them and win back their support through this exciting ‘7th Man’ campaign, beginning this Saturday on Opening Night.”

The Panthers new “Get It On” and “7th Man” marketing campaign is live in the South Florida market with 36 billboard locations, radio spots, digital advertising, grassroots initiatives and more. All told, the six-figure valued campaign is the most aggressively activated in the franchise’s history.

The Florida Panthers open the 2013 season this Saturday, Jan. 19 against their Division-rival Carolina Hurricanes with tickets starting at $7 per game for the season.

“Get It On” is aimed at energizing the South Florida community around the return of Cats hockey, while the “7th Man” initiative represents the franchise’s commitment to its fans following the challenging work stoppage period. Both messaging points fall under the umbrella of the Panthers’ general “RED Rising” campaign. (Hashtags: #redrising, #7thman, #hockeyisback)
