Panthers Sign Evgeny Dadonov

SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers Assistant General Manager Randy Sexton announced today that the club has signed RW Evgeny Dadonov (ehv-GEH-nee, da-DON-nauv) to an entry level contract.

Dadonov, 20, appeared in 40 games with Traktor Chelyabinsk (KHL) last year scoring 11 goals with four assists and a plus-2 rating. He appeared in 43 contests with Traktor Chelyabinsk during the 2007-08 campaign registering 20 points (7-13-20).
The Chelyabinsk, Russia native, has played for Team Russia at the World Junior Championships for the last three years (2007-09), earning a Bronze medal in 2009 competition.  Additionally, Dadonov placed third on the 2009 Russian junior team with seven points (2-5-7) and a plus-6 rating. He was drafted by Florida with its third choice (71st overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Florida Panthers open training camp with medical and physical testing on Saturday, Sept. 12, before departing for Nova Scotia. The Panthers will hold their first on-ice practice of training camp on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m in Port Hawkesbury. The Panthers play their first pre-season game on Tuesday, Sept. 15 in Halifax against the Ottawa Senators.
