Panthers Shawn Matthias, Ice Dancer Simona And Fox Sports Florida Reporter Allison Williams A Big Hit At Dream Date Auction

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. – Current Florida Panthers forward Shawn Matthias went for $1,500 and Ice Dancer Simona went for $2,700 at the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 12th annual Dream Date Auction, which was held last Friday night at Opium Nightclub at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel.

Matthias and Simona were two of 20 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes available for bidding. Matthias will take his winner on an Xtreme Date Package, which includes racing, mini golf, dinner and drinks courtesy of Xtreme Indoor Karting in Ft. Lauderdale.

Simona and her date will enjoy swimming with dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium and dinner for two at Mango’s restaurant in South Beach.

Panthers and Florida Marlins reporter Allison Williams was also up for auction and went for $2,500.

Matthias, Simona, and Williams turned out to be the stars of the show as they raised the most out of all the bachelors and bachelorettes.

All of the event’s proceeds will go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s South Florida chapter. This year’s event made over $45,000, enough money to grant wishes for nine children.
