The Panthers, having put together their first two-game winning streak of the season over the weekend with victories in Dallas and St. Louis, announced Sunday that they have reassigned forwards Jeff Taffe and Michael Repik and defenseman Keaton Ellerby to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Rochester.
Forwards Kenndal McArdle and Victor Oreskovich will remain with the team. Oreskovich, who played his first game Saturday with the Panthers, dressed in place of Repik and played 13:42 with five hits. McArdle played 7:58 with two hits. Ellerby had been called up in case Bryan Allen couldn’t play on consecutive nights, but the veteran defenseman dressed and played 19:18 with two blocked shots.
The Panthers return to practice Monday morning at incredible ICE to prepare for homes games at BankAtlantic Center this week against a pair of Southeast Division rivals – Carolina Wednesday and Washington Friday.
The Panthers are 4-7-1. Ironically, it’s the same record they had last year after 12 games.
