Panthers Return Matthias to Belleville; Glass Reassigned to Rochester

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin announced today that the club has returned C Shawn Matthias to the Belleville Bulls (OHL) and that LW Tanner Glass has been reassigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Matthias, 19, made his NHL debut on Jan. 18 in New Jersey against the Devils. The following night in Washington, Matthias netted the first two goals of his NHL career in the Cats 5-3 loss to the Capitals. He played in four games with Florida, averaging 13:07 in ice time with two goals and a two penalty minutes. He has played in 32 games with Belleville scoring 21 goals with 37 assists.

Glass, 24 has played in 23 games with the Panthers this season, earning his first NHL goal in the Cats 5-3 win over the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 22. He has averaged 4:05 in ice time, while picking up 27 penalty minutes. Glass has played in 24 games with Rochester this year scoring two goals with two assists and 45 penalty minutes.

The Panthers who sit just three points out of first place resume play after the All-Star break with a home contest against the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
