Panthers Return Four To Juniors

Keaton Ellerby, Michael Frolik, Shawn Matthias, Michal Repik returned to Jr. teams


SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin announced today that the club has returned D Keaton Ellerby (Kamloops), C Michael Frolik (Rimouski), C Shawn Matthias (Belleville) and RW Michal Repik (Vancouver) to their respective junior teams. The moves leaves the team with 39 players left at training camp.

Repik, the Cats second round pick (40th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, played in two preseason games with Florida posting two assists. Frolik, Florida’s first round pick (10th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft played in one preseason game and scored one goal. Matthias, who Florida acquired from Detroit along with a second round draft pick for Todd Bertuzzi, appeared in one preseason game with the Cats. Ellerby, Florida’s first round pick (10th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft appeared in one preseason game with the Panthers and had a plus-1 rating.
