Panthers Recall Shawn Matthias

SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that the team has recalled C Shawn Matthias from the Rochester Americans (AHL).


Matthias, 20, earns his second recall to the Panthers this year. He was previously recalled on Oct. 30 and played in one game versus Ottawa on Oct. 30, recording 7:21 in ice time.

Matthias appeared in five preseason games with the Panthers scoring one goal with one assist and four PIM. The Mississauga, Ontario, native made his NHL debut last year with Florida, playing in four games and scoring two goals.
