Panthers Recall G Tyler Plante

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that G Tyler Plante been recalled from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Plante, 23, earns his first call-up of the season after posting a 13-14-2 record, a 3.04 goals against average and a .912 save percentage in 32 games with Rochester. The Panthers second round pick (No. 32 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft was named the Reebok/AHL Player Of The Week for the period ending Feb. 27 after stopping 156 of 165 shots (1.71 GAA and .945 save percentage) and posting a 4-0-1 record and a shutout in five contests.
Plante has played in 103 career games with a 36-52-5 record and a .904 save percentage over four professional seasons with Rochester (2007-11). The Milwaukee, Wisc. native also played in the ECHL with Florida (07-08) and Dayton (08-09).

The Panthers (29-33-10) play their first game of a five-game road trip tonight when they take on the New York Rangers. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Florida and on Sports Radio 560 WQAM.
