Panthers Recall D Mike Mottau

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled D Mike Mottau from San Antonio (AHL). In addition, the team announced that D Ryan Whitney has been loaned to San Antonio (AHL).

Mottau, 35, has played in 313 National Hockey League games with the New York Rangers (2000-2002), Calgary Flames (2002-2003), New Jersey Devils (2007-2010), New York Islanders (2010-2012) and Boston Bruins (2011-2012) registering 58 points (7-51-58) and 160 PIM.

The Quincy, Massachusetts, native has played in 13 games with San Antonio (AHL) this season registering two points (1-1-2) and 10 PIM with a plus-4 rating. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the seventh round (182nd overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
