Panthers Recall D Keaton Ellerby & D Joe Callahan

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled D Keaton Ellerby and D Joe Callahan from the Rochester Americans (AHL). In addition, the club placed RW Steve Bernier (orbital bone fracture) and LW Rostislav Olesz (broken finger) on injured reserve.

Ellerby, 21, has appeared in seven games with Florida this season registering three assists and plus-5 rating. For his career in the NHL, he has played in 29 games, all with Florida, recording three points (0-3-3) and six PIM. Ellerby has played in seven games with Rochester this year registering two assists and four PIM.
The Strathmore, Alberta, native was drafted by Florida with their first choice (10th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Callahan, 27, has yet to appear in a regular season game with the Panthers this season. For his career in the NHL, he has played in 19 games with the NY Islanders (2008-09) and San Jose (2009-10) registering three assists and four PIM. Callahan has played in all 20 games with Rochester this season scoring one goal with five assists and 10 PIM.
The Brockton, MA native was selected by Phoenix with their third choice (70th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Callahan was signed as a free agent by Florida on August 3, 2010.
The Panthers play their second game of a three game homestand tonight when they host the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen live on FS Florida and heard on 560 WQAM.
