Panthers Prospects Begin Postseason Competition

Ten Cats Prospects Advance to Playoffs

SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers prospects D Peter Aston (Oshawa Generals), D Michael Caruso (Guelph Storm), C Shawn Matthias (Belleville Bulls) and RW Dan Collins (Plymouth Whalers) all have advanced to the Ontario Hockey League playoffs, which commence this weekend. Beginning on Friday night, Oshawa takes on Kingston, while Caruso goes head to head with Collins when Guelph takes on Plymouth on Saturday, March 24. Belleville faces Ottawa in their first game on Monday, March 26.

The Western Hockey League playoffs also have several Panthers prospects competing including LW Kenndal McArdle (Vancouver Giants) and G Tyler Plante (Brandon Wheat Kings). Vancouver takes on Chilliwack, while Brandon faces Prince Albert on March 23.

G Marc Cheverie (BCJHL) has a 2.25 GAA in four playoff games for the Nanaimo Clippers. The Clippers who won their first round playoff series against Surrey, currently own a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series with Burnaby.

In the college ranks, D Drew Bagnall, a Hobey Baker Finalist, and his St Lawrence Squad, takes on Boston College on Friday, Mar. 24 in the first round of the NCAA Division I Tournament. D Matt Duffy has his Maine Black Bears play St. Cloud also on Friday, while G Brian Foster (New Hampshire) take on Miami, OH., on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
