Panthers President Michael Yormark Speaks At Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Leadership Conference In Orlando

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that President & COO Michael Yormark made a special appearance and sat on a fundraising panel at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leadership Conference in Orlando on Friday.
Yormark, the 2010 and 2011 Light The Night Broward County Walk Chair, was invited to speak about his and the Florida Panthers’ success in raising a record $130,000 for LLS and Light The Night for last year’s walk. In addition, Yormark was presented with a special award for being one of the country’s top walk chairs and fundraisers.
“I was honored to visit the LLS Leadership Conference in Orlando on Friday and share with my fellow walk chairs how we were able to make a real difference in the fight against cancer in South Florida,” Yormark said. “I was also excited to challenge the walk chairs in attendance to set an individual fundraising goal of $50,000 and grow the Light The Night program to new heights.”
Yormark has returned as the Light The Night Broward Walk Chair for the second consecutive year and he and the Panthers walk team have set a record fundraising goal of $150,000. The 2011 Light The Night Walk in Broward County will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Huizenga Plaza in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

In 2010, the Panthers raised a record $130,000 against a goal of $100,000, and Yormark was the top individual South Florida fundraiser at $50,000. On the whole, Light The Night raised more than $915,000, but LLS has set a fundraising goal of $1,000,000 in 2011.
