Panthers Post-Season Special Premieres Saturday On Fox Sports Florida

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE – FOX Sports Florida wraps up its 2008-09 season-long coverage of Florida Panthers hockey with the Florida Panthers Post-Season Special, an original half-hour show premiering statewide Saturday, May 2 at 5:30pm (ET).

The Cats had fans on the edge of their seats as the team went on a late season winning streak, falling just short of making the playoffs.  It was an impressive season – with a 41-30-11 record they scored 93 points, the second most in franchise history and their 41 wins tied for the second most in franchise history.

Host Craig Minervini, recaps the team’s 2008-09 NHL season and hears from players Cory Stillman, Radek Dvorak, Bryan McCabe, Keith Ballard, Jay Bouwmeester, Tomas Vokoun, and the Panthers’ top goal scorer, David Booth.  In addition, Minervini interviews head coach Pete DeBoer about his first season coaching in the NHL.

Reporter Frank Forte offers a special feature on Stephen Weiss who had his best season yet and emerged as the Panthers’ leading scorer.  Weiss set a career high with 61 points and in the process became one of the team leaders at only 26 years-old.

The Florida Panthers Post–Season Special will replay on FOX Sports Florida Monday, May 11 at 7pm, Saturday, May 16 at 6:30pm, Thursday, May 28 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 30 at 6:30pm (ET).
