Panthers Open Rookie Camp on Sept. 7

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers open their four-day rookie camp on Monday, Sept. 7 at incredible ICE in Coral Springs with the first on-ice session beginning at 9 a.m. Some of the Panthers prospects scheduled to take part in the camp include Evgeny Dadonov, D Keaton Ellerby, D Jason Garrison, D Dmitry Kulikov, RW Shawn Matthias and RW Michal Repik.


 
“The rookie camp provides our coaching staff the opportunity to work with our prospects in an environment that enhances skill development and accelerates the process to play in the NHL,” Florida Panthers Assistant General Manger Randy Sexton said. “This camp focuses on high-tempo on-ice and off-ice workouts that will prepare our prospects to compete in pre-season competition.”
 
Head Coach Pete DeBoer, along with Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen and Jim Hulton will conduct the on-ice sessions. Strength and Conditioning Coach Craig Slaunwhite will work with the prospects during their off-ice workouts.
 
The players will skate at incredible ICE from Monday, Sept. 7 to Thursday, Sept. 10 (9-11 a.m.), followed by off-ice conditioning.  All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public. Media interviews will be conducted after the players complete their off-ice workouts.
 
The Florida Panthers open their main camp with medical and physical testing on Saturday, Sept. 12, before departing for Nova Scotia. The Panthers will hold their first on-ice practice of training camp on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m in Port Hawkesbury. The Panthers play their first pre-season game on Tuesday, Sept. 15 in Halifax against the Ottawa Senators.
