Panthers Make Roster Moves

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin announced today that the club has reassigned RW Michal Repik and C Shawn Matthias to Rochester (AHL). In addition, D Noah Welch will return today from Rochester (AHL) after completing his two week conditioning assignment. The club today also activated RW Nathan Horton, LW Richard Zednik and LW David Booth from injured reserve.   

Repik, 19, made his NHL debut with the Panthers on Monday, Dec. 8 in Ottawa, scoring a goal in his first NHL contest. Since his recall on Dec. 8, he appeared in four games, averaging 8:27 in ice time with one goal and two PIM. He has played in 24 games with Rochester this year recording 14 points (8-6-14).

Matthias, 20, earned his second recall to the Panthers on Nov. 28 and has played in 10 games with Florida this season, averaging 10:18 in ice time, with one assist and two PIM. He has played in 19 games with Rochester scoring three goals with one assist and eight PIM.

Welch, 26, played in seven games with Rochester, picking up three assists with 10 PIM. He has played in seven games with the Panthers this season recording two points (1-1-2) with four PIM.

Florida (14-13-3) visits the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, Dec. 18 for their final game of a five-game road trip. The game can been seen live on FS Florida and heard on SportsTalk 790 The Ticket at 7 p.m.
