Panthers Mailbag: 02.05.10

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

Welcome to the Panthers Mailbag, a feature that can be found only on

Questions from around the world came in for our players and coaching staff so look below to see if your question was answered. If not, don't worry, it could be answered in future mailbags. And if you haven't submitted a question or would like to, just fill out the form found on this page.

Questions can be found in bold. And if something needs additional commentary or clarification, it will come in italics before the player provides his answer.

And away we go.

Question for Gregory Campbell - What kind of music do you listen to? Is there any specific music that gets you pumped up before a game?

Michelle Jackson – Boynton Beach, FL

Campbell –
“Not really. I like listening to hip-hop, Tupac, a little bit of dancer-techno music I guess.”

Question for Peter DeBoer - Hello Pete, I was just wondering what do you say to the guys during a game like for instance...When we score and or win a close game...Do you relax the guys or pressure them to keep scoring to close it out? What exactly can you tell the fans like myself?

Dylan Rodgers – Tamarac, FL

DeBoer –
“We use all kinds of different things. When we’re in the third period and we need a goal or we’re flat, you try and motivate guys, get guys to be the difference in the game. When we have a lead in the third, I think the roll of the coach is more as a calming influence to try and keep the guys focused and stick to doing what we need to do to get a win.”

Question for Tomas Vokoun - What is a normal gameday for you like? Are there any special activities?

James Alexander - Ft Launderdale, FL

Vokoun –
“I usually try to keep my routine pretty much the same. I go to the morning skate, have a lunch after. Then I usually get home and nap from 1-3pm and then by 3:30 have a little snack. Four o'clock/4:15 I leave for the rink and drive down. I get to the rink and basically do my routine and get ready for the game. I'm trying to stick to it. I've been doing that for a long time.”

Question for Michael Frolik – What kind of car do you have?

Lynzee Janowitz - Davie, FL

Frolik -
“I have a BMW 5 but it's a lease.”

Question for Stephen Weiss - What TV shows do you like to watch? Any cartoons?

Bobby Steele - Orlando, FL

Weiss -
“I like to watch House, Weeds is a good one, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Dexter.

“I don’t watch cartoons anymore. I used to as a kid though.”

Question for Gregory Campbell - I am a huge fan of you and your teammates and I would like to ask you a question. How do you feel you have been playing this season and do you think you could be doing better?

Alejandra Marin – Miramar, FL

Campbell –
“I’ve had some ups-and-downs asides from injuries. But one thing I can say is that I’m working as hard as I can and trying to contribute to the team whichever way possible.

“Of course I would like to score some more goals and get some more points and pick up the slack when some of the big guys aren’t scoring but I’ll keep working and it’s going to come.”

Question for Kamil Kreps – I have two questions, or maybe three for Mr Kreps. First, I was wondering if you have any brothers or sisters and if they are playing hockey too? And my last question is what kind of music do you listen to, if you listen to music of course?

Keep up the good work, I’m a big fan of yours!

Robin Renmark – Malmö, Sweden

Kreps - “I have an older sister. She doesn’t play hockey.

“For music, it depends on the mood I guess. I like a mix of everything; little bit of rock, little bit of hip-hop, little bit of pop and country.”
