SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers Healthy Habits school assembly show, in partnership with Publix, reached more than 4,000 students during the 2011-12 season. Beginning in March, the 40-minute assemblies educated students on the sport of hockey and the importance of making healthy choices through the “Three E’s,” which include “Exercise,” Eat Right” and “Education.”

As a reward for hosting the Healthy Habits Assembly program, each school received a set of street hockey equipment donated as part of the Florida Panthers Street Cats program, while each student received an official Healthy Habits school folder complete with a coupon for two complimentary tickets to a 2012 Florida Panthers Home Pre-Season Game.

The tour performed over a dozen shows and reached a total of six schools:

  • David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center in North Miami Beach
  • Endeavor Primary Learning Center in Lauderhill
  • Crosspointe Elementary in Boynton Beach
  • Banyan Creek Elementary in Delray Beach
  • Marsh Pointe Elementary in Palm Beach Gardens
  • Discovery Key Elementary in Lake Worth

Each show wrapped up with a surprise visit by Panthers team mascot Stanley C. Panther and students won additional prizes based on trivia they learned throughout the show.
