SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Healthy Habits presented by Tenet Health, a new initiative designed to educate students on the sport of hockey and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, reached more than 5,000 students during 10 performances to six schools over the last three weeks.
Healthy Habits, which is one of the Panthers new schools and education initiatives, visited student assemblies at select Broward County elementary schools including Sagemont School, Sandpiper Elementary, Nova Eisenhower Elementary, Plantation Elementary, Welleby Elementary, and Country Isles Elementary.
In addition to educating students on hockey and health, the Healthy Habits shows also included a surprise visit from Florida Panthers mascot Stanley C. Panther, tons of great Florida Panthers prizes for answering trivia questions, while each student received an exclusive Healthy Habits bookmark and Florida Panthers food pyramid. In addition to the show itself, each school received a set of street hockey equipment to use in their Physical Education inventory.
