Profitable May highlighted by Panther Pail promotion during Cats Cookout II

SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers Foundation wrapped up a profitable month of May while preparing for the 2007 Florida Panthers Draft Party on June 22 at The Park Bar & Grill inside the Seminole Paradise at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

During the second Cats Cookout of the summer on May 15 at the BankAtlantic Center, the Foundation hosted their first “Panther Pail” fundraiser. Fans had the opportunity to throw a ball into pails of various sizes for a chance to win assorted prizes, including autographed Panthers merchandise and concert tickets.

“Our ‘Panther Pail’ promotion was a success and we plan on creating more unique ideas to execute during future Cats Cookouts,” said Foundation Executive Director Alaina Miller. “As we prepare for the NHL Draft Party on June 22 we are working to finalize all of the details of our raffle, silent auction and VIP seating area. We look forward to seeing all of our fans at The Park and to their support of our initiatives.”

The Florida Panthers Foundation will be involved in the Draft Party by hosting three fundraising initiatives. The Foundation will be hosting a VIP area at The Park Bar & Grill. For $40 fans will have the opportunity to sit in a designated area along with select Panthers players as well as free appetizers and beer, wine and soda during the event.

The Foundation will also be hosting a raffle and a silent auction. Scheduled silent auction items include a Florida Marlins package, autographed hockey sticks and photos. Raffle tickets will be sold for a wide range of prizes including sessions with a personal trainer, martial arts training, Florida Panthers tickets, concert tickets for shows at the BankAtlantic Center, gift certificates from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, among many other items. Tickets will be sold by Foundation representatives and will be sold in the following amounts: one ticket for $3, two tickets for $5 and an arms length of tickets for $20.

In addition, the Florida Panthers Foundation supported various charities and fundraising events during the month of May. The Foundation donated over $11,000 worth of silent auction items to radio play-by-play man Steve Goldstein’s Goldie’s Gang Golf Tournament. The Foundation also contributed a number of other items – including Panthers tickets, concert tickets, Zamboni rides and signed merchandise – to fundraisers held by the Girl Scouts of Broward County, the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation and Swingtime: The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation.

Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, Homestead Air Reserve, Soref JCC, Boys & Girls Club, Miami Disadvantaged Youth, Dept. of Naval Science, American Jewish Community, City of Plantation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, H.O.P.E., Camelot Community Center, Stellar Kids, the Andy Roddick Foundation and Rock and Wrap It Up!.
