Latest Arbitron Ratings Ranks 790 The Ticket on Top of South Florida Sports Radio
SUNRISE, FL – In the most recent Arbitron ratings that were released last week, the Florida Panthers flagship radio station 790 the Ticket posted the best ratings among South Florida sports radio stations in the key demographic group of men ages 25-54, with Panthers hockey broadcasts playing a part in the station’s success.
“790 the Ticket gave the Panthers a better lead-in with the Dan Le Batard Show than they had during their time at WQAM and that, coupled with the Panthers playing competitive hockey all season long, contributed to their ratings success at night,” said Steve White, 790 The Ticket Program Director. “We’re thrilled with the first year of our partnership with the Panthers and are looking forward to a great second year.”
In their first year on 790 The Ticket, Florida Panthers radio broadcasts earned a combined 3.6 share (fall and winter ratings) as compared to a combined 1.5 share for WQAM radio programming during the 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. time slot. During that same time slot, Panthers hockey broadcasts, along with shows hosted by Kevin Rogers and the Dos Amigos, went head to head with Dolphins All Access on WQAM. All told, the ratings for Florida Panthers games on 790 The Ticket during the 2007-08 season were 140-percent higher than the ratings for Panthers games on WQAM during the 2006-07 campaign.
“The entire Panthers organization enjoyed working with 790 The Ticket and we hope that our listeners were pleased with the quality of our broadcasts,” said Florida Panthers V.P. Broadcasting/Radio Play-by-Play Broadcaster Randy Moller. “We look forward to a continued successful relationship with 790 The Ticket, where we hope to continue to grow and expand on these successful radio ratings.”
