by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

More than 500 Panther fans packed the Carolina Ale House in Weston on Saturday, June 24 to watch the Panthers select C/W Michael Frolik with their first choice (10th overall selection) at the team's annual draft party.

"This year's draft party was another fantastic event," said Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing Chad Johnson. "The feeling in the air was electric leading up to the Panthers first selection. We will continue to host several other events throughout the summer leading up to the puck drop for the Panthers season in October."

Panthers radio voice Steve Goldstein attended this year's event, as well as former Panther Bill Lindsay. Additionally, Stanley C. Panther made an appearance at the party to cheer on the Panthers selections.

Fans in attendance had the chance to win various Panthers raffle prizes as well as bid on several items in a silent auction to benefit the Florida Panthers Foundation. Items in the silent auction included select ]autographed game-used sticks, autographed player prints and other items. All fans were able to enjoy drinks, food, interactive games, the Panthers prize wheel and special raffles.
