SUNRISE, Fla. – USA Hockey announced today that Florida Panthers D Clay Wilson has been named to the 2011 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, April 29 - May 15, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Wilson, 27, played in 15 games with Florida this season scoring three goals with two assists, while averaging 14:50 in ice time. The Sturgeon Lake, Minn., native placed third on the Rochester Americans (AHL) with 48 points (12-36-48) in 66 games played. For his career in the National Hockey League, Wilson has played in 31 contests with Columbus (2007-09), Atlanta (2008-09) and Florida (2009-11) recording eight points (4-4-8).
Wilson, along Panthers teammate F Jack Skille
will compete for Team USA at the World Championship.
