Will Play in 300th Consecutive Game Tuesday Night in Montreal

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that Panthers Captain Olli Jokinen tied Scott Mellanby’s franchise points record of 354 points as a Florida Panther on Saturday night in the Cats 6-4 win over Tampa Bay. Jokinen recorded three points (1-2-3) to tie the record.

Florida will travel to Montreal on Tuesday night when Jokinen will have his first shot at breaking the points record in what will be Jokinen’s 300th consecutive game played, tying Robert Svehla for the Panthers all-time record of consecutive games played.

Jokinen has played in 490 games with the Florida Panthers after being traded from the New York Islanders to Florida on June 24, 2000. He has 156 goals and 198 assists for 354 points since joining the team for the 2000-01 season.

Jokinen has a chance this season to break almost every offensive record in Florida’s 15-year history.
