Long before the Florida Panthers made him the third overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, winger Jonathan Huberdeau made a name for himself starring for the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Huberdeau Named First Inductee Into Sea Dogs Hall of Fame

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs and the Sea Dogs Foundation are very proud to announce Jonathan Huberdeau is the first inductee into the new Sea Dogs Hall of Fame.

The organization made the landmark announcement at the conclusion of the first-ever Sea Dogs Par 3 Celebrity Challenge, held today at Rockwood Park Golf Course.

SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today that the club will host an ice hockey clinic at Icetopia Skating Rink in Wildey, Barbados on Tuesday, August 22 as part of the Panthers youth hockey and community outreach initiatives. The NHL's first ice hockey clinic in the Caribbean will feature Panthers defensemen Alex Petrovic and Ian McCoshen as head instructors.

SUNRISE, Fla. - After setting new career marks in goals (20) and points (59) in 76 games during a breakout season in 2015-16, Jonathan Huberdeau's highly anticipated follow-up campaign suffered an unfortunate setback before it could even get started.

Huberdeau, 24, sustained a lower-body injury against the New Jersey Devils during the Florida Panthers preseason finale at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. on Oct. 8 - an injury that kept him out of the lineup until the 52nd game of the season.

Matheson, a first-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2012, set up the game-winning goal in Florida's Opening Night contest against the Devils on Oct. 13, knocking New Jersey's Damon Severson off the puck behind the net with a booming hit before feeding Aleksander Barkov for a wide-open goal to secure a 2-1 victory in overtime.
