Panthers Announce Upcoming Community Events

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers today announced two upcoming events in support of USA Hockey and the NHL’s “Come Play Hockey Month” in November. The Panthers’ “Try Hockey For Free” clinic featuring G Jacob Markstrom and Goaltending Coach Robb Tallas will take place at noon on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Iceplex and the entire Cats team will hold a community rink practice at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Pines Ice Arena.

Boys and girls ages 4-9 are invited to the Iceplex in Coral Springs on Nov. 5 for a “Try Hockey for Free Clinic” with Tallas and Markstrom. Experienced instructors will also be on hand to teach kids the basics of hockey. Space is limited and participants must be first-time players. To register, contact Tony Lessel at
The Panthers community rink practice will feature a full Cats team practice and special activities for fans at Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke Pines on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. Players will sign autographs after the practice (subject to availability) and the Panthers Patrol will be on hand with prize giveaways, along with Stanley C. Panther and the Redline Lady Panthers.
“Come Play Hockey Month” is a joint initiative between USA Hockey and the NHL. The nationwide effort is designed to increase participation in the sport of ice hockey in the U.S. and is a component of the NHL’s “Hockey is for Everyone” program, which provides children of all backgrounds the opportunity to play hockey.
