Panthers Announce Healthy Habits Presented By Tenet Health

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment today announced Healthy Habits presented by Tenet Health, a new initiative designed to educate students on the sport of hockey and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Healthy Habits, which is one of the Panthers new schools and education initiatives, will visit student assemblies at select elementary schools throughout Broward County.

In addition to educating students on hockey and health, Healthy Habits shows also include a surprise visit from Florida Panthers mascot Stanley C. Panther, tons of great Florida Panthers prizes for answering trivia questions, while each student will receive an exclusive Healthy Habits bookmark and Florida Panthers food pyramid.

Six schools were chosen to initially participate in the program, which began today May 17, as part of a spirit contest that took place last month. The schools chosen are the Sagemont School, Sandpiper Elementary, Nova Eisenhower Elementary, Plantation Elementary, Welleby Elementary, and Country Isles Elementary. In addition to the show itself, each school will receive a set of street hockey equipment to use in their Physical Education inventory.

Anyone interested in having Healthy Habits visit their school or summer program should contact Kyle Hamsher at 954-835-7414 or hamsherk@sselive.com.
