Scholarships will go toward four separate youth hockey organizations
SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Alumni Association announced today that it has donated over $4,500 in new youth hockey scholarships for the fall youth hockey season. Since its inception in 1997, the Florida Panthers Alumni Association has donated over $300,000 to youth hockey players and programs that otherwise could not afford the equipment and ice time they need to play the game they love.
“The Panthers Alumni Association feels it is its responsibility to help youth hockey continue to grow in the South Florida community,” said Association President Randy Moller. “We are proud to continue our contribution to youth hockey in South Florida and we believe strongly that money should not get in the way of a child’s dream to take the ice and play the sport they love.”
The most recently awarded grants will benefit the Jr. Panthers, Golden Wolves, Panther Alliance and Sharpshooters. Grants are awarded based on academics, community service, team play, financial needs and endorsements from youth hockey organizations.
The Florida Panthers Alumni Association continues to support numerous other fundraising events and youth hockey organizations including the Florida Scholastic Hockey League.
