Scholarships will go toward four different youth hockey teams and associations
SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Alumni Association announced today that they will donate over $4,000 in new youth hockey scholarships and grants for a total of nearly $15,000 in scholarships this hockey season. Since its inception in 1997, the Florida Panthers Alumni Association has donated over $280,000 to youth hockey players and programs that otherwise couldn’t afford the equipment and ice time they need to play the game they love.
“The Panthers Alumni Association feels it is its responsibility to help youth hockey continue to grow in the South Florida community,” said Association President Randy Moller. “We understand, as much as anybody, that hockey is an expensive sport to participate in. But we believe strongly that money should not get in the way of a South Florida child’s dream to take the ice and play the sport they love.”
The recently awarded $4,000 in grants benefit four different South Florida youth hockey associations including the Palm Beach Predators, the Florida Jr. Panthers, the Miami Little Toros and the Thunder Hockey Association.
