SUNRISE, Fla. Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired F Krys Barch and a sixth round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Dallas Stars in exchange for F Jake Hauswirth and a fifth round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. In addition, the club announced today that F Bracken Kearns has been reassigned to San Antonio (AHL).
“Krys is a hard-working forward who adds further depth and competitiveness to our line-up,” said Tallon. “He will join our club in Boston and we look forward to his contributions to our organization.”
Barch, 31, has played 263 NHL games, all with Dallas, notching 10 goals, 16 assists and 578 PIM. For the 2011-12 season, Barch has played in 10 games and picked up 23 PIM. The 6-foot-1, 237-pound Hamilton, Ont. native was drafted in the fourth round (No. 106 overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
