Cats 5-0-1 in their last six home games; Jokinen Garners Third Star of the Week Honors

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers look to build on their great play at home this week when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, Jan. 16 and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, Jan. 18. The Cats have posted a 5-0-1 mark in their last six home contests and sit just five points out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Panthers last home loss in regulation occurred more than a month ago on Dec. 12.

Panthers C Olli Jokinen was named the National Hockey League's third star of the week after recording five goals and one assist in three games played last week, including a hat trick in the club's 5-2 win over Pittsburgh on Jan. 10. In addition, C Stephen Weiss registered his first career hat trick in the Cats 7-3 win over Washington on Jan. 13. On Tuesday, the Panthers will play in their 1,000th game in the team's franchise history.
