Josh Brown and the Oshawa Generals defeated Kelowna 2-1 to win the 2015 Memorial Cup on Sunday night. Oshawa Forward Anthony Cirelli notched the winning overtime goal while Josh Brown tallied the secondary assist on the game-tying goal. The last time the Generals won a Memorial Cup was 1990, making the win made even more special for the Cats prospect.
Defenseman Josh Brown was drafted by the Panthers in the sixth round (152th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He recorded four points (2-2—4), 30 PIM and a plus-5 rating in the 21 games played throughout the course of the playoffs.
The Captain recorded 21 points (4-17—21) in 60 games played for Oshawa during the 2014-15 regular season.
