On to Ottawa

by Mike Lewis / Florida Panthers

After falling 5-1 to the New Jersey Devils, the Panthers turn the page on their previous game with their sight set on the week ahead. Coach Gerard Gallant has put the game behind him and looks to get the team back into the win column.

"I forgot about it, you move on," said Gallant.

"We play too many games to worry about yesterday's game. We've got to move on, we've got to get ready for the Ottawa Senators tomorrow. It's another big game, there's no easy game for the Florida Panthers, we've got to come ready to play every night. We played real hard the first night (against the Tampa Bay Lightning) and showed what we can do."

"We want to play a lot more like the first game."

Assistant captain, F Derek MacKenzie scored his first goal as a Panther on Saturday night, putting him on a two-game point streak (1-1-2), while D Brian Campbell with an assist on the goal now rides a two game assist streak (0-2-2).

The Panthers close out their two-game home stand tomorrow night against Ottawa. The Panthers own a two-game winning streak against the Senators, winning their last two meetings in 2013-14. After playing the Senators the Cats hit the road for back-to-back weekend games, facing the Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals on October 17 and 18.
