We had a couple days off after Saturday’s game, which was Kids Day. Those events are fun. You see a lot of kids in the building. That’s who’s going to grow the game in the future. We’ve got to get the kids out there watching and practicing. We had a good game, scored eight goals, so, hopefully, we made some new fans.
Watched football on Sunday and Monday was our golf tournament for the Florida Panthers Foundation. I went in cold. Figured why tweak what’s not there. I didn’t expect a lot of myself but we finished 17 under and lost by two strokes to Bo’s group. I heard they had a couple pros in their group.
It was a lot of fun. Anytime you can take a day out of the season and play some golf? I’m all for that.
Coming back off the break I think it’s going to be all about focus, making sure we’re ready mentally to come back and play the type of style we need to win. It’s something we didn’t do after the last break after Christmas, and it’s something we talked about at the start of the week.
Pete just said last time we had a break we didn’t respond very well and we have to make sure we don’t take any steps back after these four, five days here.
It starts with practice, and we sure have been practicing hard so we’re ready to respond once we back into it. We’re making sure we’re battling and getting the legs going so we’re not a step behind.
Philly comes in Friday and they have a good team and a lot of good players, but we can’t worry about that. We’ve played a lot of team similar to that. We’ve just got to make sure we’re doing the things we need to do that make us successful, try to limit their chances as much as possible, and compete for 60 minutes. If we do that, we’ll have a chance to win.
Talk to you soon.
