News & Notes From Montreal

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers arrived in Montreal at about 1 a.m. on Sunday morning after posting a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at the TD Garden. On Sunday, the team practiced at the Montreal Canadiens practice facility in Brossard, Quebec, with two teams going through both on-ice and off-ice workouts.

Although it is just the preseason, Head Coach Peter DeBoer was excited about his club’s effort in their win in Boston on Saturday night.

“Big win for us, we did not quit, down 2-0 in a tough building to play in, against a good Boston lineup, the team battled right to the end and I was really proud of the effort,” said DeBoer after the game. “Even though it is preseason you want to get in a habitat of winning games and this win sends a good message to our group.”
The Panthers play their final game of their four-game preseason road trip against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night. The Cats return home for a pair of games on Wednesday, Sept. 29 (Carolina) and Friday, Oct 1 (Tampa Bay), before closing out the preseason in Tampa Bay on Saturday, Oct. 2.
On Monday the Panthers are expected to dress Tomas Vokoun in goal with forwards Stephen Weiss, Radek Dvorak and David Booth in the line-up, along with veteran defensemen Bryan McCabe, Bryan Allen and Dennis Wideman. Erik Gudbranson and Keaton Ellerby are expected to play in their fourth consecutive game.
