Name The Line Contest: Winner

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
Panthers forwards David Booth, Stephen Weiss & Nathan Horton have a new name for their line, the Sunrise Express.
Season seat holder Gus Busmadis sat down with pen and paper 10 days ago and started writing down names for the Panther line of Stephen Weiss, Nathan Horton and David Booth.

“I came up with a few corny ones and a few I thought were pretty good,” Busmadis, 29, recalled. “Me and my mom talked about it, I polled some friends…I had to come up with something.”

What Busmadis came up with was the winning name in the Name the Line contest.

And the winner, as voted by Panther fans, is:

Sunrise Express.

Busmadis, a native of Tamarac and a Panther fan since the team’s inception in 1993, wins three jerseys signed by Weiss, Horton and Booth.

“That’s the best line, they’re the top, and they’re invigorating,” Busmadis said. “It’s exciting that they’re so young. I think that’s what people like. It’s nice to know they’re going to be around for a while.”

Sunrise Express T-shirts with pictures of all three players will be available in Pantherland on Thursday as the Cats host the Atlanta Thrashers at 7:30pm.
