'Let the Sunshine State Games Begin!'

incredibleICE opens its doors to 327 skaters from across the state

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A record 327 skaters, including 114 from Broward and Dade County, will compete at the 20th Annual Sunshine State Games Figure Skating Championships at incredibleICE in Coral Springs this weekend. The annual event is presented in conjunction with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau and incredibleICE.

The three-day championships run from May 12-14 with an opening ceremony on Friday at 12:45 p.m. and daily competition beginning at 9 a.m. on all three days.

"We're looking forward to another great weekend here at incredibleICE," Vice President/General Manager of incredibleICE Jeff Campol said. "We have enjoyed hosting this event over the past three years and are looking forward to again playing host to Florida's best figure skaters."

The competition and practice ice schedule as well as the 2006 entry confirmation list is now online at www.flasports.com. Skaters may purchase practice ice for a fee of $12 for thirty minutes (limited to 25 skaters per session). Skaters competing in the Sunshine State Games Figure Skating Championships qualify for the Southeastern Sports Festival, which will be held in Shelby County, Alabama from July 27-30.
