LONDON, ONTARIO: General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that the London Knights, in association with Freedom 55 Financial, will honour former London Knight and current Florida Panthers centreman Dave Bolland by retiring his No. 91 up into the rafters of Budweiser Gardens. The ceremony will take place prior to the game on Wednesday, October 15th when the Knights host the Erie Otters for a 7:00pm game at Budweiser Gardens.

Drafted 8th overall by the Knights in the 2002 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Bolland has gone on to have a very successful professional hockey career in the National Hockey League hoisting two Stanley Cups (2010 and 2013) with the Chicago Blackhawks , the team which drafted him 32nd overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Few will forget the goal Bolland scored in the final minute of game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals to win the game.

As the current London Knights franchise record holder for most career playoff goals, Bolland will return to the place where his standout hockey career took off. Bolland played 254 games for London over a four year period from 2002-2006 tallying 299 regular season points (135 goals, 164 assists). He was a proven playoff performer with the Knights scoring 65 points in 62 playoff games. He was an integral part of the franchise’s first OHL Championship and Memorial Cup Championship in 2004-05.

In his time with the Knights, Bolland was also a two time Western Conference All-Star, participated in the Canada- Russia Challenge and was named to the 2006 Team Canada World Junior Team where he recorded 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) helping Canada win World Junior Gold in Kamloops, British Columbia.
