Kelli's Korner: Successful Start

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
New this season, Panthers Ice Dancer Kelli will be sharing her thoughts on this upcoming season from what's going on with the dancers (including the try out proccess), to what's going on and off the ice, as well as anything else that she cares to discuss.

Kelli is trying out once again this year to become an Ice Dancer for her third season. The Fort Lauderdale native is also currently working towards earning her broadcast journalism degree.

The Watch Party against the Carolina Hurricanes at Knight Time Billiards in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino was a complete success! There was a live band performance, drink specials, giveaways, and of course… the Ice Dancers!

Victoria, Desi, and Kelly stopped in to 790 the Ticket to visit our good friend Sid Rosenberg and talk about opening night. Sid put the ladies through a Panther quiz and although they may not have scored a 100%, by the end of the season, I know they’ll be pros! (Sid-- the ladies still have to take the “Hockey in Heels” class taught by Randy Moller… then you’ll need to re-quiz them!) To listen to the live interview, Click Here.

The ladies got to see their first overtime game where we triumphed over the Atlanta Thrashers… 3-2 on opening night! I love the rush when we perform in front of thousands of people. For the rookies, it’s a totally new experience and I’m happy that we get to be a part of it. Before the game, we made a small toast for all the hard work we’ve put in and to a successful year with the Panthers! The ladies and I made an appearance in the Captain’s Lounge after the game to mingle with season tickets holders and the VIP’s of the Florida Panthers!

Nichole popping the bottle of champagne (Non-alcoholic, of course!)

So… the time has finally come! After Saturday’s thrilling 2-0 shutout victory over the New York Islanders, the ladies and I have packed our bags!

After long hours in the gym, we are off to shoot our 2009 Swimsuit Calendar in Grand Bahama Island! Of course we are going over there to work, but it’s also a mini slumber party with all the girls as well! I’m excited and nervous all at the same time! I’m going to try and get some sneak peeks while the girls shoot to share with you all! Wish us luck…

PS: Feel free to send any pictures you take of the girls or with them at games/appearances to or

I promise to share them on the blog!! :0)
