huby season rewind

Welcome to "My Weekend in South Florida," where your favorite Florida Panthers players share how they prefer to spend their free weekends throughout the summer and season while suiting up for the NHL's southernmost franchise.

1. If I have a free weekend in South Florida, I usually spend it…
I try to go to the beach, but for no more than an hour. The sun can really sap some energy out of you, but I still try to go to the beach for a little bit and hang out and relax. You try to be outside just because it's so nice and you feel bad when you're inside. It all really depends on what type of day it is.
2. If one of my teammates tags along, it's usually…
This year it was mostly Vincent Trocheck.
3. I like having him around because…
We're really kind of similar people. We never agree with each other, so it's funny. I know how he is and I know how I am, so we just get along. It's been a really fun year. We also carpool, so we're together a lot. We didn't really hang out much the past few seasons, but this year we did a lot.
4. When it's time to grab a bite, I'll head to…
I like Louie Bossi's in Fort Lauderdale a lot. I'd recommend the New York strip steak or the Rigatoni Bolognese. They're both great.
5. If that's not an option, then I'll try…
I'd say probably Caffé Europa for dinner and O-B House for breakfast. They're both in Fort Lauderdale. At Caffé Europa I always get the Whole Wheat Penne Europa. At O-B House I usually go with the Captain's Plate, which has got a little asparagus with mahi and some scrambled eggs. It's nice.

6. If I hit the beach, I can't forget to bring…
Sunscreen. The sun is killer. I'm pretty white, so I get really red. My sunscreen has to be at least over 30 SPF, for sure.
7. My favorite thing about playing hockey in South Florida is…
Everybody says the weather. The weather is a big thing, but just being able to leave the house in shorts and sandals and come to the rink is a really huge plus.
