Upcoming Events Include Beach Bash on Aug. 19 and Sixth Cookout on Aug. 22

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers welcomed nearly 1,000 season seat prospects at their fifth Cats Cookout presented by Carls Patio on Thursday, Aug. 10. The sixth Cats Cookout is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 22. In addition, the Panthers will host their Beach Bash on Saturday, Aug. 19 at Ocean Water Sports in Pompano Beach, beginning at 11 a.m.

The evening's festivities were highlighted by the introduction of newly acquired Panthers netminder Ed "Eagle" Belfour, along with Cats C Olli Jokinen. Fans also were treated to a free barbeque dinner, and live music on the Carls Patio. Young fans were also entertained by a deck hockey game on the event level, playing in a moon bounce and taking slap shots in an interactive hockey game.

"It was great opportunity to meet our fans at the cookout, said Belfour. "Everyone seems really excited about the start of the season and I look forward to returning to South Florida in a couple of weeks to begin training camp."

In addition, fans had the chance to meet the Florida Panthers sales team, select seats for the upcoming season and get tours and information on memberships to the new "Eastern Financial District."

"Once again, the Cats Cookout provided a wonderful opportunity for Panther fans to see all the advantages of becoming a Florida Panthers season ticket holder," Sr. V.P. of Sales & Marketing Chad Johnson said. "The excitement for the upcoming Panthers season has been very visible at all our summer events."
