SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers and its parent company Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, LLC announced today that Jim Willits has been named Executive Vice President of Sales.

“Jim brings to our organization a tremendous amount of sales experience and knowledge in the professional sports and entertainment industry,” said Florida Panthers Executive Chairman Peter Luukko. “He will be responsible for overseeing the sales and service for season, premium, group and individual tickets for all Panthers games, as well as all events at BB&T Center.”

Willits spent eight and a half years with Philadelphia Flyers, starting as the team’s director of sales, before being promoted to vice president of sales. While working with the Flyers, the club set multiple franchise records for overall attendance (2009-2012) and single-game attendance records during the Stanley Cup Finals (2010). Philadelphia also ranked first in the National Hockey League among U.S.-based teams in paid tickets during the 2009-2010 season. More than 5.6 million fans attended Flyers games during Willits’ tenure with the club.

Willits spent two seasons working in Major League Baseball, with the Cleveland Indians (2002-2004), serving as the team’s director of ticket sales. Prior to working in Cleveland, Willits spent six years with the Phoenix Coyotes (1996-2002), rising from an account executive to director of ticket sales.

Most recently, Willits served as vice president of sales for Pointstreak Sports Technologies, from July 2014 to February 2015. Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc., is a Toronto based company that develops sports-related software, including 50/50 raffle technology, which is increasingly used at sports facilities across North America.
