CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Jeremy Mylymok has been hired as General Manager for the Florida JR Panthers Hockey Club and the Director of Hockey Operations for Savology.com Iceplex.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Jeremy to the Florida JR Panthers organization,” said Saveology.com Iceplex VP/GM and JR Panthers President Jeff Campol. “I’m confident that Jeremy’s knowledge, leadership and experience will help establish a new era of growth, success and professionalism for the Florida JR Panthers as we look to compete with the elite travel programs in North America.”

Mylymok brings a wealth of playing, coaching and directing experience to the organization. Following his four-year NCAA career with the University of Alaska-Anchorage, Mylymok spent 11 seasons playing professionally (1995-2006) in the WCHL, ECHL, IHL and AHL. A three-time captain of the ECHL Idaho Steelheads, Mylymok led his team to a Kelly Cup championship in 2003-04. The former defenseman won various awards including the WCHL Outstanding Defenseman award (2000-01).

Also serving as an assistant coach of the Steelheads during his playing days, Mylymok started the Junior Steelheads Travel Hockey program (in 2005) in Boise, Idaho, serving as the Hockey Director for two seasons, providing leadership to 140 youth hockey players. The Junior Steelheads program is now considered one of the top Tier 2 Programs in the Pacific Northwest.

In his most recent capacity, Mylymok has overseen the hockey program for the City of Boise as their Director of Hockey. There he managed, scheduled, recruited and instructed players at the youth, high school and adult levels. A Level 5 USA hockey coach, Mylymok is active with USA Hockey in implementing the American Development Model (ADM) for youth hockey players.

The JR Panthers will feature 10 teams in the 2012-13 season (Mites through U18) and look to build on last season’s success, which included two state championships, three state finalists and a Silver Medal at the USA Hockey National Championships.
