Florida Panthers vs. NY Rangers

Post-Game Interview

Jacques Martin

On the first half versus the second:

I thought it was a pretty good effort overall. The first period they were a little rusty for not playing in so long and so they took nine or ten penalties but I thought we probably deserve a better fate. We had more chance than them; they got two power play goals.

On tonight's calls:

You don't control that; you don't worry about that. It's beyond my control but we came back and played hard and I think that we have got to stay out of the box, that's the bottom line.

On the Panthers' control of the puck:

We got two goals tonight from our defense which is encouraging. I think we kept them with less chance than us and we created more chance; I think we're in the right direction. Were just going to have to regroup now and just really focus on Buffalo.

On tonight's performance:

Once we got going we created a lot of really good opportunities. Unfortunately we got caught during a line change for their third goal. I think the second half of the game was definitely really positive.

On Salei's goal:

I think that was a really nice play. It was four-on-four so it was a real heads up play. It was a good play by Horton to Nieuwendyk and Nieuwendyk saw Salei moving in; it was a really nice individual play.
