This past weekend Henrik Borgstrom recorded two points (1-1-2) in two games against Colorado College, helping the University of Denver reach their fourth and fifth consecutive wins.
Unassisted, the 19-year old Florida Panthers first rounder scored his team-leading 15th goal and 27th point of the season on Feb. 11. The goal was Denver's fourth of the game.

Borgstrom stole the puck and split the Colorado defense at the Denver blue line before taking off into the offensive zone on a breakaway. The Helsinki, Finland native fought off three backchecking Colorado College players before sniping the puck past the blocker side of Alex Leclerc.

The Finnish freshman has recorded four points (2-2-4) over his last four games. Leading the team with seven power play goals, Borgstrom ranks tied for second in the nation among freshmen for goals on the man advantage. He ranks third in the nation among freshmen for goals.

HAWRYLUK SHINES

Jayce Hawryluk has been a bright spot for the Springfield Thunderbirds offense since returning from injury in January. Playing in his first professional season, the rookie forward has recorded 14 points (5-9-14) over 20 games.
Despite the Thunderbirds dropping their three contests this past weekend, Hawryluk recorded three points (1-2-3). The former Brandon Wheat King standout registered his third multi-point game of the season on Jan. 10 against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Hawryluk recorded an assist on Denis Malgin's second goal of the season to open the game's scoring before he found the back of the net himself in the third period.
MacKenzie Weegar and Ian McCoshen registered the assists on Hawryluk's goal.

Florida's 2014 second round pick (32nd overall) has recorded eight points (4-4-8) over his last 10 games.

SPRINGY STUFF

Over the weekend, McCoshen recorded two points (1-1-2) and now has registered three points (1-2-3) over his last five games.

Rookie defenseman Michael Downing scored the lone goal for the Thunderbirds in their Sunday match-up with the Providence Bruins. Hawryluk and Dryden Hunt notched the assists.

Hunt has recorded two assists (0-2-2) over his last three games.
Springfield is set for another three-game weekend, hosting the Utica Comets (Fri., Feb. 17) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Sat., Feb. 18) before traveling to Hartford (Sun., Feb. 19).

CATS KIDS

Samuel Montembeault earned his fourth consecutive win on Sunday against the Moncton Wildcats, making 21 saves. Montembeault ranks fourth in the QMJHL for wins (21) and fifth in goals against average (2.57). He is tied for first in shutouts (4).
Adam Mascherin recorded a career-high four assists on Sunday against the Sarnia Sting. Mascherin's 86 points (32-54-86) rank him third in scoring in the OHL. His 54 assists tie him for first. He is four points away from his 200th OHL point.
Jonathan Ang scored his 20th goal of the season and 50th point of the season on Feb. 11 against the Barrie Colts.

Riley Stillman scored his eighth goal of the season on Feb. 12 against the North Bay Battalion, to record his second consecutive game with a point (1-1-2). Stillman has recorded four points (2-2-4) over his last six games.
