Hometown Hockey Tour Hits The Streets in April

Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers announced today that the Summer 2007 Hometown Hockey Tour will begin this month with the StreetCats Festival at incredibleICE in Coral Springs on April 21 and the first Cats Cookout of the Summer on April 26 at the BankAtlantic Center.

The Panthers Hometown Hockey Tour is a traveling hockey block party that features Cats mascot Stanley C. Panther, the Florida Panthers Panera Bread bounce house, the ADT portable street hockey rink and more. The Hometown Hockey Tour will be making appearances in the South Florida community all Summer long at ice and inline hockey facilities, municipal summer camps, YMCA and Boys & Girls Club centers and more.

“Since the Florida Panthers joined the NHL in 1993, we’ve seen hockey grow into a year-round sport in the South Florida Community,” SSE Sr. Vice President Chad Johnson said. “With the Hometown Hockey Tour, we are keeping fans informed about the upcoming season, keeping the Panthers ‘top-of-mind’ during the summer, as well as continuing to nourish the growth of this great sport in our community.”

The Hometown Hockey Tour already has a number of appearances scheduled for May and June including stops at the Ice Zone’s Unveiling Party in Lake Worth (May 1), Broward Cup Inline Hockey Tournament in Davie (May 18 – May 20) and the Panthers Draft Party at The Park in the Seminole Paradise Hotel & Casino in Hollywood (June 28).
