Paul Riso - Chef of The Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club
A native New Yorker, Chef Paul Riso began his career at a small French Bistro in Westchester County and continued his studies at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. After graduation, he joined Westin Hotels & Resorts opening La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Ariz., and Mission Hills Resort in Palm Springs, Calif.
Chef Riso travelled the country working for the Westin Hotels and Resorts at properties such as Westin Santa Clara and Westin Cypress Creek as well as assisting at other properties in Detroit and the San Francisco Bay area.
He then joined California Cafe Bar & Grill at Pier 66. Chef Riso displayed his love for food and stylish plate designs for the next decade at the helm of this award winning restaurant.
From there, he joined the Napa Valley Grille in Providence, R.I., as well as Yesterday’s in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. For the next eight years, Chef Riso led the team at Hugh’s Culinary and Ruggero’s Italian Bistro, both in Oakland Park, Fla.
Chef Riso is now at The Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club, creating a unique dining experience in all outlets of the club. A complete renovation of the club is scheduled for 2016. A whole new creation of Country Club concept will be launched in November 2016.
Chef Riso has won numerous awards and accolades over his thirty year career including Gourmet Magazine’s America’s Top Tables, Guest Chef at Epcot Food and Wine Festival, winner of multiple First Place Awards at Art Ala Carte, Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival, Chefs in America National Culinary Award and many others.
